Sr. Civil Structural Engineer

1. Position Purpose:
The position purpose is to assist the Design Manager in all aspects of the design team’s work, particularly with respect to the delivery of design documentation packages and quantity estimates, to a high level of quality and according to the strategic program.
2. Accountability:– Accountable and reporting to Lead Structural Director.
3. Tenure : Full time role based in Delhi/Kolkota
4. Principal Responsibilities:
In compliance with SKM standards and statutory regulations:
- Under direction lead a related design team
- Work on detailed design & drawings preparation for structural design for metro viaducts, flyovers, buildings and other general civil engineering structures.
- Co-ordinate with government agencies for approval of design submissions
- Co-ordinate with construction organizations and concessionaires in matters relating to designs and Design Contracts.
- Determine stakeholder needs by critically analysing the project brief
- Co-ordinate with architects, associates & sub- consultants to expedite the development of appropriate design solutions and documentation packages compliant with statutory regulations .
- Follow procedures to ensure that a high quality standard is maintained in all documentation
- Ensure all regulations and EH&S requirements are met
- Lead lessons learned processes to develop design and cost improvement concepts
- Liaise with consultants with respect to permit processes
- Carry out administrative duties associated with the design and documentation process
- Liaise with the Design Manager and Program Manager to achieve handover of documentation in accordance with the project program
- Other duties as requested

- External contractors
- External stakeholders

Technical skills:

- Experience in analysis and design of Flyovers, Viaduct and multistoried RC frames and Buildings.
- Experience in handling of flyover, viaduct and building projects in India
- Significant experience in recognising and critically analysing client requirements
- Sound knowledge of structural engineering design methods and techniques
- Knowledge of civil and structural engineering industry standard software packages
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Staad and windows based programs
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows based applications
Desirable:
- Proven ability to multi-task (multiple projects simultaneously)
- Proven ability to lead and direct the work of others.
Professional qualifications and experience:
Essential:
· Recognized degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or comparable degree
· Experience in documentation production and coordination of engineering services
· Experience in detail resolution
Desirable:
· Experience in design and documentation for hazardous situations
· Experience in design of large residential schemes
